Résumé Optimizer

Quick Match or Detailed Match, and how long each takes

Quick Match (0.5 credits) takes about a minute and a half; Detailed Match (1 credit) two to three minutes. If a run times out, you are refunded.

Updated September 19, 2026

There are two pipelines on the Optimise page; you choose before each run.

Quick Match — 0.5 credits

Quick Match reads the posting's seniority and every requirement, maps your employers and dates, then builds the ideal candidate for that job inside your real career: what an ideal professional would have done at each of your employers. It stitches that ideal résumé together with your original at roughly 80 % ideal, 20 % your original wording. It usually takes about a minute and a half.

Anything Quick Match adds that your original résumé does not state is listed above the editor under Unverified additions — confirm before you send, and marked in red in the editor. Keep the ones that reflect your experience; edit or delete the rest before you send it. The red marking never appears in the downloaded file.

Quick Match also offers Compare with the ideal candidate: the same name, employers and dates written as the ideal profile for this job. It is a benchmark you can compare and download; it is not your verified history and is never saved over your résumé.

Detailed Match — 1 credit

Detailed Match is the evidence-first engine: it extracts your career facts, decodes the posting, plans the résumé around what you can prove, writes it, then audits and repairs it. Every line traces back to your résumé; unsupported posting terms stay in the gap analysis. It usually takes two to three minutes. The progress ring shows the expected wait.

The same final checks for both

Before a résumé reaches you, either pipeline locks your employers, job titles, dates, locations and education to your record, takes out figures and team sizes your résumé doesn't state, has a separate editorial review read it as an editor would, and renders the real PDF to inspect it. The score is shown as separate parts — content quality, factual integrity, ATS compatibility and presentation — and is a document check, not an employer's ATS result. How the audit works

Keep the page open

The result is delivered to the page you started it from. Stay on it until it finishes.

If it takes too long

There is a time limit. If a run hits it, it is stopped and your credit is refunded automatically — the message says your credit was not spent. You'll then see Retry with Quick Match. A second run is often faster anyway.

If Detailed Match fails partway, the server may also fall back to a single pass on its own when there is time left.
