Accessibility: keyboard, screen readers and display settings

What JobMatch does for keyboard, screen-reader and low-vision use, what is not good enough yet, and how to tell us what got in your way.

Updated October 16, 2026

JobMatch aims for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We don't claim to meet it. The full statement, with how we checked and what isn't good enough yet, is on the accessibility page.

What you can use today

  • Keyboard. Press Tab once on any page for a Skip to content link. A clear ring shows where you are. Once signed in, Ctrl/Cmd + K opens a search that jumps to any page.
  • Screen readers. Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled controls. When you move to another page inside the app, its title is announced and focus moves to the main content.
  • Contrast and zoom. Text meets the AA contrast ratio on the pages we scanned. You can zoom the page, and small labels follow your browser's text-size setting.
  • Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, animations stop. A loading spinner keeps turning slowly so it never looks frozen.
  • High contrast. There are styles for Windows high-contrast mode and for systems set to increase contrast.

Known gaps

We haven't yet had the product tested by people who use screen readers or switch devices daily. Downloaded PDF résumés are real text but are not tagged for screen readers, so the Word or plain-text download is the better choice if you use one. Live Interview Assist is built to be glanced at during a call and isn't a good fit for screen-reader use while you are also listening to the interview.
