I got the job: marking a hire and your hire story

Press I accepted on an Offer card to mark it Hired, see your hire story and have the cost of a tailored résumé returned.

Updated October 16, 2026

When an application reaches Offer and you accept it, press I accepted on its card in Applications. Add your first day if you like, then confirm.

What happens

  • The application is marked Hired.
  • Your hire story tells your search from your own records: the days from your first optimised résumé to the offer, how many applications you sent, your interviews, and the résumé that won. A figure that can't be worked out from your records is left out, never invented.
  • A share card is ready to download and post. JobMatch never posts it for you, and your employer is named only if you choose.
  • A thank-you: the cost of one tailored résumé (1 credit) is returned to your wallet. It happens once per hire, and an account can receive it for up to two hires.
  • A short email with the same story is sent to you.

The public figure

A tick box asks whether to count my hire in JobMatch's public figure. If you tick it, you are counted in a number on the home page, with only a role family: never your name or your employer, and nothing is shown until there are enough hires for the number to mean something. You can turn it off later by editing the application.

Coming back to it

On a Hired card, press Your hire story whenever you like.

The check-in email

Two weeks after an application is set to Interviewing, you get one email asking how it went, with a link to update it. It is sent once per application.

Before you accept, a negotiation brief can help. Your story lives on the Hired page.
